Selection Process
The selection process is conducted according to the following guidelines:
- Selection Committee: Candidates are evaluated by a Selection Committee, distinct from the application review committee. This committee is appointed by the Program Board and consists of three full members and one substitute. The names of the committee members will be published on the program’s website at least 48 hours before the beginning of the selection process.
- Evaluation Stages: The selection process consists of three stages:

- Written Exam (Eliminatory).
- Presentation and Defense of a Research Project (Eliminatory).
- Curriculum Vitae Analysis (Classifying).
- Research Lines: Candidates compete within their chosen field of research for the available seats. Failure is based on minimum cut-off scores, and classification is based on the final scores obtained concerning the seats offered for each field of research.
- Anonymity: To ensure impartiality, written exams and research projects are identified only by the candidate’s registration number. Any signature or mark that allows for the identification of the candidate will lead to disqualification.
Final Grade Calculation
- Master’s Degree (Weighted Average):
- Written Exam: Weight 5
- Research Project Presentation and Defense: Weight 4
- Curriculum Vitae Evaluation: Weight 1
- Doctoral Degree (Weighted Average):
- The final grade is calculated based on the last two stages:
- Research Project Presentation and Defense: Weight 6
- Curriculum Vitae Evaluation: Weight 4
