Financial Aid and Scholarships

The Graduate Program in Pathology (PPGPATO) is committed to supporting students’ scientific development by offering scholarships. Every year, the program allocates Social Demand Scholarships from major funding agencies, such as CAPES and CNPq, as well as FUNCAP, depending on availability.

How does the distribution work? Scholarships are intended for regularly enrolled students and may be granted for the full duration of the course (24 months for the master’s degree) or for partial periods, based on quota availability and decisions made by the Program Coordinating Office.

A Transparent Selection Process To ensure impartiality and excellence, the selection of scholarship recipients is conducted annually by a dedicated committee. This group is composed of the Program Coordinator, members of the coordinating office team, faculty from the board, and a student representative who is also a scholarship holder.

The entire process of scholarship distribution and maintenance strictly follows the guidelines established by the funding agencies and the regulations of UFC’s Office of the Vice Provost for Research and Graduate Studies (PRPPG), ensuring that financial support reaches researchers fairly and efficiently.

International Opportunities: Split-Site Doctoral Program (PDSE)

In addition to national support, PPGPATO actively encourages global academic integration through the Institutional Split-Site Doctoral Program Abroad (PDSE), sponsored by CAPES. This prestigious scholarship allows doctoral students to conduct part of their research at a high-level international institution for a period of 6 to 10 months. The goal is to foster international partnerships, increase the impact of our scientific production, and provide our researchers with invaluable global experience. Selection for the PDSE is conducted through internal call notices, following the guidelines and deadlines established by CAPES.
